This two-week itinerary covers Tokyo's main districts and several day trips outside the city. It begins in Asakusa and moves westward through central neighborhoods before adding excursions to Nikkō, Kamakura, Hakone and Yokohama. The sequence groups nearby sites on the same day and spaces longer trips to avoid fatigue.
Two weeks covers Tokyo's main neighbourhoods at a relaxed pace, plus day trips to Nikkō, Kamakura, Hakone and Yokohama. Spread the day trips out so you're not travelling far two days running.

Usually not. The nationwide JR Pass rarely pays off for day trips from Tokyo. Nikkō is easiest on the Tobu line, Hakone on the Odakyu line (the Hakone Freepass covers local transport), and Kamakura and Yokohama are cheap on local JR trains with a Suica or Pasmo card.
Take the JR Chuo Line to Mitaka then a 15-minute bus ride. Reserve museum tickets online before the trip.
