- Half a day for the Postpile and Rainbow Falls, which is about 5 miles round trip.

- July to September. The road usually opens in mid-June and closes by mid to late October, depending on snow.
- Getting there
- Mammoth Lakes is about 30 minutes away by shuttle or car. Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about 3 hours by car; Mammoth Yosemite Airport is near town but has limited flights.

Do you have to take the shuttle to Devils Postpile?
In the main summer season, yes, most visitors must ride the shuttle into Reds Meadow Valley during the day. Exceptions include campers and early or late arrivals, so check nps.gov before you go.
