Is a week in Paris too long?

No. Three days covers the headline sights; a week lets you add Versailles, the big museums at an easy pace, and neighborhoods most visitors skip.

When is the best time to visit Paris?

Late spring and early fall: mild weather, long days and thinner crowds than July. In August many small shops and restaurants close for the summer break.

Do I need to book the Louvre and Versailles ahead?

Yes. Both use timed-entry tickets sold online, and popular slots sell out. The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays and Versailles on Mondays.

How do I get to Versailles from Paris?

Take the RER C train to Versailles Château–Rive Gauche, about 45 minutes from central Paris, then walk ten minutes to the palace gates.
