Questions about this trip

Is 4 days enough for Washington DC?

Four days covers the main monuments and museums if you start early each morning. Reserve timed tickets for the Air and Space Museum and African American History Museum online the week before arrival.

Do I need to book train tickets from Washington DC to Philadelphia in advance?

Book Amtrak tickets at least seven days ahead for lower fares on the Northeast Regional. The trip takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours, with frequent departures from Union Station through the day.

Is 3 days enough for Philadelphia?

Three days handles the historic sites and major museums without rushing. Walk between Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, then use SEPTA buses or rideshares to reach the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Do I need reservations for the Statue of Liberty?

Buy ferry tickets at least two weeks ahead through Statue City Cruises, the only official seller. Tickets include both Liberty Island and Ellis Island, and pedestal and crown access must be reserved separately.
