The Zwinger was built in the early 18th century as a pleasure palace for Augustus the Strong. It now houses several museums including the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Porcelain Collection. Look for the crown gate, the Nymphenbad fountain court, and the long galleries that frame the central courtyard.
