Puka Pukara questions
What does Puka Pukara mean?
It is usually translated as "red fortress," after the color the rocks take on at dusk. It was probably more of a waystation than a fort.
Can I walk back to Cusco from Puka Pukara?
Many people get dropped at Tambomachay and walk downhill past Puka Pukara, Q'enqo and Sacsayhuamán back into town. It takes around two hours.
