This seven-day trip covers central Paris sights over three days before driving west into Normandy. The Paris days focus on the islands, the Left Bank and Montmartre in sequence. In Normandy the route visits Giverny and Rouen, then Honfleur and Mont-Saint-Michel, ending with an abbey visit and a bay walk.

Is 7 days enough for Paris and Normandy?

Seven days works if you drive between sites each day. Book the hire car early; the Mont-Saint-Michel car park is pay-on-arrival, so no booking is needed.

Do I need to book Eiffel Tower tickets ahead?

Yes. Book online as early as you can, ideally two to three months ahead for summer or summit tickets.

How long is the drive from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel?

The direct drive from Paris takes about four hours. On this trip you drive from Honfleur instead, which takes about two and a half to three hours, so fill the tank and check traffic before leaving Honfleur.

A car is the easiest way between Paris, Giverny and Rouen. Giverny has large car parks near Monet's house, so there's no need to book parking.
