This five-day itinerary covers central Munich landmarks, the Residenz and English Garden, Nymphenburg Palace with the Olympic Park, the Pinakotheken museums, and Neuschwanstein Castle. The order begins with the compact Altstadt, moves to nearby sites, then to western and northern areas, and reserves the distant castles for last. This keeps daily travel manageable.
Five days covers central Munich and one day trip if routes stay compact. Reserve all palace entries online before travel.
Book Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau tickets four weeks ahead on the official site. Trains from Munich to Füssen run hourly and cost 25 euros each way.
Tram 17 from Karlsplatz reaches the palace in 20 minutes. Combined palace and garden tickets cost 12 euros.
No advance booking is needed for the Pinakotheken. A day ticket for all three costs 12 euros and allows reentry on the same day.
