One week covers the Old Quarter, West Lake and two day trips. Book Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh tours at least five days ahead to secure seats.
Do I need to book Ha Long Bay tours in advance?
Yes. Reserve day cruises two to three days ahead in peak season. Expect 1.2 to 2 million VND per person including transfers.
How do I get from Hanoi to Ninh Binh?
Most visitors take a tour bus or limousine van (about 2 hours) leaving Hanoi around 7:30, reaching Trang An by 9:30. Trains run only a few times a day.
How do I reach Bat Trang from central Hanoi?
Catch bus 47 from Long Bien station or hire a Grab for 150,000 to 200,000 VND each way. Allow two hours round trip outside rush hour.
